The suburbs around Fremantle like Hamilton hill, Spearwood and Hilton are cheaper to rent property with rents beginning at around $300 a week. In Spearwood which is just a 10 minute drive from Fremantle you can rent detached house for around $400 a week.
There is a direct train link to Perth CBD, it takes around 25 minutes. Fremantle is also well covered by a bus service into the city and surrounding suburbs.
There are three main highways Canning Peel and South Street leading to Kwinana freeway which goes to the Perth CBD and also goes down to Rockingham, Mandurah and Bunbury.
Sterling highway going directly to the city which is 16 kilometers away.
Fremantle has a University called the Notre Dame, and several high schools and primary schools the academic achieves are exceptional, there is Also a new State of the art high school called Fremantle College.
