Background

Joondalup become a city to the North of Perth in the late 1980’s and 90’s when housing and business began to be established. Since 2013 the Western Australian state government new strategy names Joondalup as an important regional hub.
Joondalup is a contemporary city located 26 kilometers from Perth CBD. The town is named after Lake Joondalup. The Perth regional planning authority has developed a plan to create 5 sub-regional retails centers, these were Fremantle, Joondalup, Midland, Armadale, and Rockingham. This plan was endorsed by the Western Australian parliament over 40 years ago.
Joondalup has an excellent transport network, linking its many suburbs by bus to Joondalup city center Railway and Perth, it is also an easy commute to Perth city by train and freeway.

Joondalup is a migrant city

Joondalup has attracted many migrants due to is suburban appeal with beautiful wide roads and its state of the art shopping canter, there is a significant British, Irish and South African community as well as Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankan, Bangla Dash, Chinese’s and South East Asians from countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia . There is also a sizable population from the Pacific islands and New Zealand.
