Visitor Visa (subclass 600)
The Visitor visa allows you to come to Australia for a holiday or a business trip for up to three, six or twelve months. Depending on where your passport is from, you may be able to get this visa for free. This visa is useful if you are wanting to visit family in Australia for an extended period, or on a business trip.
Electronic Travel Authority (subclass 601)
The Electronic Travel Authority lets you visit Australia for holiday or business purposes, with as many visits as you want up to three months throughout one year. Applications for this visa must be made outside of Australia and only certain passports are eligible.
eVisitor (subclass 651)
The eVisitor visa allows you to visit Australia for a holiday or business trip for up to three months at a time within one year. This visa is free, but applicants need to hold a passport from an eligible country.
Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417)
The Working Holiday visa allows young people to work and travel in Australia for up to one year. You can get this visa if you’re at least 18 years old and not yet 31, hold a passport from an eligible country, and will not have a dependent child with you during your stay.
You can extend your stay by applying for a Second Working Holiday visa, for which you need to undertake 88 days of regional work to be approved. This will extend your stay by another year.
Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462)
The Work and Holiday visa allows young people to work and travel in Australia for up to one year. You can get this visa if you are at least 18 years old and not yet 31, hold a passport from an eligible country, and will not have a dependent child with you during your stay.
Not to be confused with the Working Holiday Visa, this visa applies to countries that the Working Holiday Visa does not.
