  • Positive skill assessment for the occupation in question.
  • You must be under 50 years of age.
  • You must demonstrate competence in English
  • Occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list.
  • You must be nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency.
  • Skilled Regional Provisional (Subclass 489)

Sponsorship from a state or territory government, or a relative sponsorship, is required to obtain this visa. It grants the holder a four-year provisional visa and authorisation to reside in specific states and territories.

  • Occupation that is on the relevant skilled occupation list.
  • Positive skill assessment for that occupation in hand.
  • You must be under 50 years of age.
  • You must demonstrate competency in English
  • You must have been nominated by an Australian state / territory government agency or relative.
